Hanvon's 10.1 inch tablet sports Intel CULV

Hanvon's 10.1 inch tablet sports Intel CULV

Here is a quick look at a 10.1 inch tablet from Hanvon that sidesteps ARM and Android, even eschewing Intel Atom to run Windows 7 on Intel's more performance oriented CULV platform. Giving you more performance than your average netbook in a tablet form factor, this is pretty slick stuff. Continue after the break for the video.

Hanvon are perhaps slightly larger and more developed as a company than your average shanzhai manufacturer but that doesn't mean that they're as slow as many of the larger more established players, specializing in e-book readers and design tablet devices for some time. They've certainly been quite quick out of the blocks in coming up with their own brand of x86 tablet devices.

The video features their B10 Touchpad device which is a 10.1", 1024 x 600 pixel touchcreen tablet powered by Intel's 743 Celeron (1.3GHz) and 2GB of DDR2. It also features a host of I/O including HDMI, VGA, 2 x USB ports, audio jacks, and 1.3 mega pixel camera with integrated Wi-FI and bluetooth. For those of you looking for somegthing with more umph than a netbook in a couch-friendly tablet form factor, this could well be the one. Prices are less than certain, but expect to pay at least 500 bucks.
